Trade-in process.
All equipment offered to us is thoroughly checked and tested for functionality and completeness upon trade-in. All our items are also checked in advance for theft. We do this on the basis of identical serial numbers. After we have checked and tested the items, your item comes with a standard 1-month warranty.
Registration obligation for second-hand goods
We register every purchase of second-hand goods. Always show your driver's license, ID card or passport. Why do we ask for your name and address? As a buyer of second-hand goods, we are legally obliged to register every purchase in a purchasing register. We also record the name, address and place of residence of the person who offers something second-hand to us. This way we prevent thieves from offering stolen goods and from unintentionally perpetuating theft. We treat your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation

How does remote appraisal (and trade-in) work?
With us it is possible to have your products valued and exchanged remotely. Below you can read what our approach is.
- Complete the online trade-in form quickly and easily.
- You will receive a no-obligation price estimate from us within 24 hours.
- Do you agree with our proposal? Before sending the goods to us, please contact our customer service to send a confirmation of approval.
- You send us the goods to be exchanged. Use the instructions provided to send the trade-in safely and clearly.
- Our colleagues in the used car department check the items for functionality and completeness.
- After verification, we will contact you to arrange payment.

How do you ship your product as safely as possible?
- If possible, we advise you to use a sturdy box and fill it as much as possible with filling materials (bubble wrap, paper, cardboard or other soft packaging materials).
- If the original packaging is present, our advice is to pack these items in the original packaging as much as possible.
- Use sufficient padding material in the box to protect vulnerable parts.
- For cameras with an interchangeable lens, always put the body cap on the camera. (This prevents dust and damage to the sensor)
- With lenses, we always recommend placing the lens cap and back cap on the lens. We recommend that sun hoods be packaged separately to prevent possible damage.
- We recommend that SD cards and batteries are not left in the camera and that they are packaged separately.
- Also remove filters as much as possible from the lens and send them separately.
- Use good tape to close the box.
- Please note that if you use a used box, previous Track & Trade codes have been removed.
- When sending your items, it is important for us that all required accessories are present. If this is not the case, this may result in depreciation.
How does remote appraisal (and trade-in) work?
- Trade-ins can only be sent after we have made you an offer. We do not accept sending your items without consultation or price indication and they will not be processed.
- Re-Own is not responsible for any loss or damage until the items are delivered to us.
- If during our inspection the item presented is found to be defective or inoperative, we may refuse to exchange this product.
- Depending on how busy couriers are and the country of origin, the processing time of your trade-in may vary. We aim to process your submitted trade-in within 2 days of receipt.
General trade-in conditions
- Our items are checked when traded in and registered in the Digital Buyers Register to prevent stolen goods. When trading in, we may ask for your proof of identity (required by law).
- Our online valuations are based on a fully functioning and complete product. The lack of accessories or damage to crucial parts can lower the trade-in price after final inspection.
