Warranty and Returns Policy
WARRANTY & RETURNS
LEGAL WARRANTY & RE-OWN WARRANTY
As a consumer, you are entitled to a product that conforms to the purchase agreement. This means that the product must have the qualities and performance that you may reasonably expect from it, taking into account factors such as the product's age, condition, price and description.
Re-Own specialises in the purchase and sale of second-hand cameras, lenses, video equipment and accessories. Because these are second-hand products, the remaining manufacturer's warranty may vary from product to product. Where applicable, any remaining manufacturer's warranty will be stated separately.
In addition to your statutory consumer rights, Re-Own provides a standard 6-month commercial warranty on its products, unless explicitly stated otherwise before purchase.
The 6-month Re-Own warranty is an additional commercial warranty and does not replace, restrict or exclude your statutory consumer rights. The expiry of the 6-month Re-Own warranty therefore does not automatically mean that your statutory rights have expired.
Any specific warranty limitations or extensions agreed between Re-Own and the buyer will be stated on the invoice or otherwise confirmed in writing.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
All products are carefully inspected and tested by Re-Own before being offered for sale.
If a product develops a defect within the applicable warranty period and the defect is covered by the Re-Own warranty, Re-Own will provide an appropriate solution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement or reimbursement.
The Re-Own commercial warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, impact or fall damage, moisture, sand, dust, breakage, improper storage, unauthorised repairs or modifications, or normal wear and tear.
Defects, damage or other characteristics that were clearly disclosed and accepted at the time of purchase are not covered as defects under the commercial warranty insofar as permitted by law.
Certain accessories and consumable items, including batteries and memory cards, may be subject to different commercial warranty conditions because their condition and expected lifespan depend heavily on age and previous use. Any limitation of Re-Own's commercial warranty does not affect the consumer's statutory rights.
Proof of purchase may be requested in order to process a warranty claim. If you no longer have the original invoice, please contact us so that we can determine whether the purchase can be verified in another way.
If a product has been repaired, opened, modified or adjusted by a third party without prior approval from Re-Own, this may affect the Re-Own commercial warranty where the intervention is related to the defect. This does not automatically exclude any statutory rights you may have.
If necessary, Re-Own may have the product inspected by a qualified repair specialist in order to determine the nature and cause of the defect.
REQUESTING WARRANTY SERVICE
If your product develops a defect, please contact Re-Own as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the issue.
You can contact us by:
E-mail: info@re-own.nl
Telephone / WhatsApp: +31 6 87310189
Please provide your order or invoice details and a clear description of the problem. Photographs or video footage of the issue may help us assess the problem more quickly.
We will then provide you with the appropriate instructions for inspection, return or further handling of your warranty request.
WARRANTY HANDLING
Re-Own will make every reasonable effort to handle warranty requests as quickly as possible. The time required may depend on the nature of the defect, the availability of replacement parts and whether an external repair specialist is required.
Where a consumer has a valid claim under statutory consumer law, Re-Own will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.
For claims covered solely by Re-Own's additional 6-month commercial warranty, Re-Own will determine an appropriate solution based on the circumstances, which may include repair, replacement or reimbursement.
If a product is returned because of a valid statutory conformity claim, the consumer will not be charged costs that legally must be borne by Re-Own.
Where Re-Own issues a refund, we aim to process the payment within 5 working days after the refund has been approved.
RETURNS – ONLINE PURCHASES
If you are a consumer and your purchase was concluded online or otherwise at a distance, you generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.
For products, the withdrawal period generally begins on the day after you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, receive the product.
You do not have to provide a reason for exercising your statutory right of withdrawal.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform Re-Own within the applicable 14-day withdrawal period.
You can contact us by:
E-mail: info@re-own.nl
Telephone / WhatsApp: +31 6 87310189
After notifying Re-Own that you wish to withdraw from the agreement, you have another 14 days to return the product.
If you validly exercise your right of withdrawal, Re-Own will refund the payments that must legally be refunded, including the standard outbound delivery costs where applicable.
The direct costs of returning the product to Re-Own are borne by the consumer, unless Re-Own has agreed otherwise or applicable law requires Re-Own to bear these costs.
Refunds will be processed in accordance with the statutory withdrawal rules. Re-Own may wait to issue the refund until the returned product has been received or until you provide evidence that the product has been returned, whichever occurs first, insofar as permitted by law.
ONLINE ORDERS COLLECTED AT RE-OWN
If you concluded and paid for your purchase online and subsequently collect the product from Re-Own, collection itself does not automatically remove your statutory right of withdrawal.
What matters is how and where the purchase agreement was concluded.
If the purchase agreement was concluded entirely at a distance, the statutory withdrawal rules for distance contracts generally apply.
If you make the purchase and conclude the agreement at Re-Own's physical location, there is generally no statutory 14-day right of withdrawal unless Re-Own has expressly agreed otherwise.
CONDITION OF RETURNED PRODUCTS
During the withdrawal period, you may inspect and handle the product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
We ask you to return the product with all accessories supplied and, where reasonably possible, in its original condition and packaging.
If the product has been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect it and this results in a reduction in value, Re-Own may be entitled to deduct that reduction in value from the refund in accordance with applicable law.
The consumer is responsible for packaging the returned product appropriately and for returning it within the applicable return period.
We strongly recommend using a traceable and appropriately insured shipping method for valuable camera equipment.
